JOB DESCRIPTION 1

The tasks an Inventory Clerk is expected to perform include:

  • Obtaining schedule and inventory-related information from the supervisor
  • Gathering relevant information and inspecting work area and equipment
  • Accessing stored goods and determining discrepancies
  • Attempting reconciliation of missing goods
  • Carrying out housekeeping activities and reporting to management post inventory counting
  • Complying with the safety, security and maintenance regulations
WORK ENVIRONMENT 2
  • It is not a desk job
  • Work from home is not available
  • Part-time work is not available
  • Travelling is not required
  • The job does not involve team handling
Working hours
  • Working is generally 5/6 days a week and a minimum of 8 hours a day
  • Some organisations require staff to work in shifts including nights, 
  • Some organisations have over-time, working on holidays and weekends

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 1
  • Minimum – Preferably 12th standard pass
  • Certified training for Inventory Clerk (programme aligned to LSC/Q2108 released by Logistics Skill Council)
KEY COMPETENCIES 1
  • Knowledge of stock keeping units
  • Knowledge of material handling equipment used for moving and storing components
  • Knowledge of technical specification of goods and possible difficulties in inventory counting
  • Basic knowledge of legal and compliance procedures
  • Detailed knowledge of identifying goods based on labels
