JOB DESCRIPTION 1

The tasks a Handset Repair Engineer (Level II) is expected to perform include:

  • Performing handset repair including hardware and software components
  • Testing the handset for adequacy post repair
WORK ENVIRONMENT 
  • It is a desk job
  • Work from home option is not available
  • Part-time work and contractual jobs are available in some cities
  • Local travelling is not a part of this job role
  • Need not handle a team
Working hours
  • Working hours are 9/10 hours everyday for 5/6 days a week. This may vary from company to company
  • Shift system maybe available
  • Self-employment is also an option. In that case, working days and hours are flexbile

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 1
  • Minimum – Preferably 10+2 / ITI / Diploma / Certification in repairing services
  • Trainings on Digital electronics, handset (general), Operating system
  • Certified training for Handset Repair Engineer (Level II) (programme aligned to TEL/Q2201 released by Telecom Sector Skill Council)
KEY COMPETENCIES 1
  • Knowledge of functionality, features and basic working of handsets
  • Well versed with basic computer skills to be able to run diagnostic tools
  • Knowledge of handset specific operating system, their versions and user interface
  • Well-versed in the functionality of hardware components, software applications, screen, and touchpad
  • Proficient in functionality of various software jigs 
  • Knowledge of mobile technologies like GSM & CDMA
  • Adept in default setting of handsets and networks
  • Proficiency in understanding range of software related problems in handsets and their possible solutions
  • Knowledge of basic details and features of Windows and Android OS
  • Adept with formatting and installing the OS
