JOB DESCRIPTION 1

The tasks a Cleaner, Motor Vehicle is expected to perform include:

  • Cleaning and lubricating moving parts of motor cars, trucks and other vehicles
  • Filling oil cans, grease guns with required type of lubricant
  • Lubricating vehicles according to charts, instructions or own judgement
  • Injecting oil or grease into various parts of engine or chassis
  • Cleaning or replacing clogged or damaged lubricators
  • Examining oil levels in gear box, crankcase, steering box, etc.
  • Draining out old oil as required
  • Reporting apparent defects to mechanic
WORK ENVIRONMENT 2, 3
  • It is not a desk job
  • Need not handle a team
  • Local travelling is not part of this job role
  • Part-time jobs are not available
  • Work from home is not applicable
Working hours
  • Organizations usually work for 5/6 days a week for 8/9 hours everyday. This may vary from organization to organization

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 4

Preferably, 10th pass or ITI in automotive industry

KEY COMPETENCIES 1
  • Knowledge of all cleaning solutions, abrasive materials and cleaning equipment
  • Basic understanding of the technical aspects of the vehicle to avoid any damage
  • Knowledge of oil requirements of different engines
  • Familiar with lubricating agents and lubricating process
