JOB DESCRIPTION 1

The tasks a Jobber, Share Market is expected to perform include:

  • Buying and selling shares, securities, etc. in trading ring of Stock Exchange (place where Brokers and Jobbers meet at stipulated hours for making transactions) to speculate and make profits due to fluctuations in prices of shares, securities, etc.
  • Watching market trend and the movement of prices various shares and securities
  • Making transactions with other Brokers, Jobbers or their authorised agents at prices which appear favourable to him/her
  • Maintaining records of transactions made
WORK ENVIRONMENT 2, 3
  • It is a desk job
  • Need not handle a team
  • Local travelling is not a part of this job role
  • Part-time work and contractual jobs are not available
  • Work from home option may be available
Working hours
  • Organizations usually work for 5/6 days a week for 8/9 hours everyday. This may vary from organization to organization

  • Adept at watching market trend and movement of prices of different shares, securities, etc.
  • Knowledge of keeping record of transactions made by him/him on notebook called ‘Soda Book’
  • Well-versed with remaining alert and trying to make profit even out of minor fluctuations
  • Knowledge of purchasing and selling shares and securities on behalf of client for brokerage
  • Well-versed with maintaining record of his/her transactions
