The tasks an Garbage Collector (Motor Transport) is expected to perform include:

  • Collecting garbage or refuse by manual scoop or mechanised scoop
  • Loading garbage on the truck and transports on designated route within municipality area to dumpyard
WORK ENVIRONMENT 
  • It is a field job
  • Need not handle a team
  • Local travelling is a part of this job role
  • Part-time work and contractual jobs are available

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING

  • Proficient in dumping garbage/refuse manually or through dumper truck in the dump yard
  • Knowledge of igniting fire, spraying pesticides or chemical solutions on the garbage to prevent bad odours
