The tasks an Animation Director is expected to perform include:
  • Recruiting and co-ordinating animation teams
  • Leading each team from the beginning to the end of any given project
  • Interpreting and communicating briefs to the animation teams
  • Reviewing all work produced by animators and assistants
  • Answering to the production department regarding schedule, budget and output
  • Ensuring that the creative desires and production requirements are met
WORK ENVIRONMENT 2
  • It is not a desk job
  • Need to handle a team of animators and assistants
  • Local travelling is part of the job role
  • Part-time work and contractual jobs maybe available
  • Work from home option maybe available

 

Working hours

  • Working is 9 hours everyday for 6 days week

  • Overtime maybe required

  • Shift system maybe available

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 1
  • Minimum – Preferably 12th standard pass
  • Certified training for Animation Director (programme aligned to MES/Q1302 released by Media & Entertainment Skills Council)

 

KEY COMPETENCIES 3

  • Skilled in designing complex graphics and animation using computer equipment

  • Ability to track the process and progress of the project

  • Knowledge of light manipulation, colours, textures, shadows, transparency, motion graphics, etc.

  • Ability to create 2D and 3D models, characters, simulations, multimedia presentations, technical illustrations, etc.

  • Knowledge of the fundamentals and principles of animation and film making

  • Knowledge of story development, directing, cinematography, editing, storyboards, etc.

  • Skilled in scripting, planning and creating animated narrative sequences

  • Knowledge of gadgets such as digital cameras, light pens, motion capture, etc.

  • Knowledge of the latest developments in the field of animation
