JOB DESCRIPTION ¹

The tasks a Decorator (Ceramics) is expected to perform include:

Transferring from paper, decorative or ornamental designs on to pottery or porcelain ware
Selecting a paper transfer of suitable or specified design and according to the size and shape of the pottery
Applying varnish to the surface of the pottery on which the design is to be transferred
Applying and pressing the paper-transfer skilfully and uniformly, avoiding any air-gap between the surface of the article and paper transfer
Dipping the article in water, removing the paper and wiping off the extra varnish on the surface of article
Drying the article for further firing and preparing one’s own designs

WORK ENVIRONMENT ²

It requires one to sit and work

Local travelling is not a part of this job
Part-time work and contractual jobs are available in some cities

Working hours

Ceramic manufacturing industries usually work for 6 days a week and 8/10 hours everyday. This may vary from unit to unit
