JOB DESCRIPTION 1

The tasks a Decorator (Ceramics) is expected to perform include:

  • Transferring from paper, decorative or ornamental designs on to pottery or porcelain ware
  • Selecting a paper transfer of suitable or specified design and according to the size and shape of the pottery
  • Applying varnish to the surface of the pottery on which the design is to be transferred
  • Applying and pressing the paper-transfer skilfully and uniformly, avoiding any air-gap between the surface of the article and paper transfer
  • Dipping the article in water, removing the paper and wiping off the extra varnish on the surface of article
  • Drying the article for further firing and preparing one’s own designs
WORK ENVIRONMENT 2
  • It requires one to sit and work
  • Need not handle a team
  • Local travelling is not a part of this job
  • Part-time work and contractual jobs are available in some cities
  • Work from home option is not available
Working hours
  • Ceramic manufacturing industries usually work for 6 days a week and 8/10 hours everyday. This may vary from unit to unit
  • Shift system maybe available
