JOB DESCRIPTION 1

 

The tasks a Colour Maker (Textile Product) is expected to perform include:
Operating machines to mix or grind daub, printing ink colour and colour pigments, for artificial leather
Calculating the batch size according to the roll yardage to be coated
Weighing and measuring components according to the formula such as ball mill mix, colour pigments, etc.
Oiling the components to attain colours of specified consistency
Moving components to the agitator or ball mill mixers
Rolling the grinders for processing, using a hand truck
Dumping ingredients into the machines that grind and mix them
Collecting colour samples and comparing them with the colour standard
Adding ingredients, such as white, clear or coloured pigments or thinner to correct colour discrepancies
Preparing new colour batches when the drum content in the inventory storage is low
Lifting and moving drums, using portable air-operated hydraulic hoists
WORK ENVIRONMENT 1

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 4

Minimum – Graduate

KEY COMPETENCIES 1

 

Skilled in making colour and dye solutions 
Knowledge of the appropriate consistency of colour to be put on fabric or leather
Knowledge of colouring the fabric without hampering its quality
Basic knowledge of rolling and grinding techniques
Ability to colour the fabric according to the required standards and specifications
Ability to prepare the exact colour that is specified
Knowledge of different shades and colour consistencies
