JOB DESCRIPTION ¹

The tasks a Control Room Operator - Agglomeration is expected to perform include:

Controlling and operating plant (sinter & pellet) from DCS (distribution control system)
Ensuring quality and quantity of agglomerate produced in the shift
Analysing deviations, if any

WORK ENVIRONMENT ¹

It is not a desk job
Need not handle a team
Local travelling is not a part of this job profile
Part-time work and contractual jobs are not available
Work from home option is not available

Working hours

Working hours are 8/9 hours a day for 5/6 days a week. This may vary from organization to organization
Overtime maybe required
Shift system maybe available

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING ¹

Minimum – Diploma (Metallurgical/Mechanical) pass
Certified training for Control Room Operator - Agglomeration (programme aligned to ISC/Q0301 job released by Indian Iron & Steel Sector Skill Council)

KEY COMPETENCIES ¹

Skilled in pelletization process and straight grate furnace operation
Knowledge of the material flow sheet and the equipment involved in the process
Skilled in calculating fixed carbon addition, tonnage w.r.t density of slurry
Knowledge of procedure to handle power failure
Knowledge of different types of binders, coke and limestone

DESIRABLE COMPETENCIES ¹

Training in iron ore beneficiation and pelletization by professional organizations like IMMT
Training in use of raw materials and additives
Training in DCS operation and use of statistical tools
Training in safety practices

EXPECTED EARNINGS ⁴

For freshers - ₹ 16,000 to ₹ 22,000 per month

REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE ¹

Minimum 2-3 years of experience in 4 MTPA Pellet plant control room operations
In lieu of minimum qualification, the incumbent should have minimum 5 to 6 years’ experience working under a supervisor in a similar operation
