JOB DESCRIPTION 1
The tasks a Clearance Support Agent is expected to perform include: 
  • Assessing additional information required for shipment clearance
  • Contacting the consignee/consignor to obtain the required documents and submitting them to the customs to get inbound/outbound shipment clearance
  • Performing the role of customer-facing to obtain the required documents and update them on the clearance status
  • Submitting documents to customs and following up to ensure that shipment is cleared
WORK ENVIRONMENT 1

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 1
  • Minimum – Graduate (Engineering, Arts, Commerce, Science)
  • Certified training for Clearance Support Agent (programme aligned to LSC/Q3030 job released by Logistics Skill Council)
KEY COMPETENCIES 1
  • Knowledge of customs requirement for different kinds of shipments 
  • Knowledge of import/export controls 
  • Knowledge of specialized clearance procedures such as SEZ, etc.
  • Knowledge of different geographies 
  • Knowledge of customs valuation for determination of value on imported goods where customs duty is levied 
  • Knowledge of customs acts and legal provisions 
  • Skilled in operating computers
