The tasks a Senior Beauty Therapist is expected to perform include:

  • Preparing and maintaining work area
  • Performing skin care services like facial electrotherapy​, epilation services, make-up services, etc. 
  • Consulting and advise clients
  • Promoting and selling services and products
  • Managing and leading a team​ of professionals and helpers

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 1
  • Preferably, 10th
  • Certified training in Senior Beauty Therapist (programme aligned to BWS/Q0104 released by Beauty and Wellness Sector Skill Council)
KEY COMPETENCIES 1
  • Ability to prepare and manage the work area 
  • Well-versed in performing skincare services like facial electrotherapy, epilation services, make-up services, etc. 
  • Knowledge of the types of products, materials and equipment required for the treatment
  • Familiar with the process to sterilize and disinfect equipment/tools
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology for skin treatments
  • Skilled in principles and practice of skin therapies
  • ​Competent to consult and advice customers 
  • Well-versed in managing and leading a team of professionals and helpers 
  • Ability to promote and sell services and products 
  • Knowledge of basic ailments, contraindications, contra-actions, treatment plans, etc.
  • Knowledge of types of equipment and products used for waxing
  • Skilled in hair removal by threading on face and/or body
  • Knowledge of chemical compounds found in hair and beauty products
DESIRABLE COMPETENCIES 1
  • Excellent interpersonal skills 
  • Communication skills
  • Good hand-eye co-ordination
  • Certified training in Level 4 Beauty Therapist or diploma in beauty therapy
