JOB DESCRIPTION 1

The tasks a Measurement Checker is expected to perform include:

  • Inspecting accuracy of dimensions of the stitched parts and finished apparel
  • Measuring all the dimensions of the apparel
  • Ensuring defect free apparel
  • Ensuring quality of operations and products
WORK ENVIRONMENT 1, 2, 4, 5
  • It is not a desk job
  • Need not to handle a team
  • Local travelling maybe a part of this job role
  • Part-time work and contractual jobs are available in some cities
  • Work from home option is not available
Working hours
  • Organizations usually work for 5/6 days a week and 8/9 hours everyday. This may vary from organization to organization
  • Shift system may be available
  • Overtime may be required

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 1
  • Preferably 5th pass
  • Certified training for Measurement Checker (programme aligned to AMH/Q0103 released by Apparel Made Up’s and Home Furnishing Sector Skill Council)
KEY COMPETENCIES 1
  • Working knowledge of how to use a measuring tape
  • Knowledge of the metric system
  • Knowledge of fabric grain line and its significance
  • Knowledge of visual inspection procedures
  • Knowledge of how to measure various garments
  • Knowledge of specification and size chart
  • Knowledge of basic math skill
DESIRABLE COMPETENCIES 1
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to change focus
  • Able to work under high pressure
