JOB DESCRIPTION ¹

The tasks an Auto Body Painting Technician L4 is expected to perform include:

Performing the final painting and touch-up
Inspecting the final painted vehicle
Arranging the material and equipment required for the process
Cleaning the painting equipment and preparing the surface of the parts to be painted
Setting-up and operating the painting booth, atomizer and air compressors

WORK ENVIRONMENT ^{1, 2, 3}

It is not a desk job
The candidate will supervise a team of Assistant Technicians
Local travelling is not a part of this job role
Part-time work and contractual jobs may be available
Work from home option is not available

Working hours

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING ¹

Preferably, ITI graduate in mechanical/painting technology

Certified training for Auto Body Painting Technician L4 (programme aligned to ASC/Q 3304 released by Automotive Skills Development Council)

KEY COMPETENCIES ¹

Knowledge of the various chemicals added to paint for consistency
Knowledge of painting by automated equipment
Basic knowledge of spray painting for manual painting
Proficiency in following all the steps specified for painting
Ability to possess a valid driver’s license
Basic knowledge of the storage functions of the final vehicles
Knowledge of maintaining the equipment used for painting
