The tasks an Automotive Electrician is expected to perform include:

  • Assessing the need for the service and repair of the electrical parts of a vehicle
  • Understanding the electronic faults in a vehicle
  • Analyzing the various electrical sub-systems across the vehicle’s body

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 1
  • Preferably, 12th
  • Certified training for Automotive Electrician (aligned to ASC/Q 1408 released by Automotive Skills Development Council)
KEY COMPETENCIES 1
  • Familiar with the auto component manufacturer specifications
  • Adept in the standard operating procedures of the workshop
  • Skilled in using workshop tools and equipment for the repair of electrical parts
  • Proficient in securing the correct spare parts, tools and materials well in time
  • Complete knowledge of dismantling and re-assembling electric parts
  • Knowledge of how to clean, adjust and tune electrical gadgets
  • Knowledge of various precautions to avoid damage to the vehicle
