JOB DESCRIPTION 1

The tasks a Brake Specialist is expected to perform include:

  • Undertaking diagnostic tests and determining common braking problems
  • Repairing and replacing worn out brake parts such as brake rotors and pads
  • Performing routine brake maintenance
WORK ENVIRONMENT 1, 2, 3
  • It is a field job
  • May need to handle a team of Floor Technicians or Specialists
  • Local travelling is not a part of this job role
  • Part-time jobs are not available
  • Work from home option is not available
Working hours
  • Organizations usually work for 5/6 days a week for 8/9 hours everyday. This may vary from organization to organization
  • Shift system may be available
  • Overtime may be required

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 1
  • Preferably, 10th or ITI in Automobile
  • Certified training for Brake Specialist (programme aligned to ASC/Q 1414 released by Automotive Skills Development Council)
KEY COMPETENCIES 1
  • Skilled in assembling, repairing and overhauling the braking system
  • Proficiency in maintaining the components in the braking and allied systems
  • Familiarity with planning and organizing work to meet expected outcomes
  • Efficient in the appropriate utilization of resources (both material and manpower)
  • Efficient in interacting and communicating effectively with all colleagues and members
  • Familiarity with how to maintain a safe working environment as per the prevalent norms and government policies
  • Knowledge of the latest technological advancements
DESIRABLE COMPETENCIES 1
  • On-the-job training is optional for ASDC Brake Specialist Certificate or diploma holder in Automotive Repair
  • Compulsory on-the-job training for candidates with any other qualification apart from ASDC Brake Specialist Certificate or diploma
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Basic reading and writing ability
  • Ability to work in a team
