JOB DESCRIPTION 1

The tasks a Product Design Engineer is expected to perform include:

  • Understanding the product requirement and supporting the Manager in fixing designs and reliability parameters
  • Creating basic product designs
  • Providing support to ensure the reliability and validity of the product design
  • Designing vehicles using computer-aided design and computer-aided engineering
  • Ensuring that the designed product includes aspects related to FMEA indicators, telematics, human machine interface and ergonomics
  • Creating and sustaining a safe, clean and environment-friendly workplace
  • Maintaining the sorting, streamlining, storage, standardization and sustenance standards across the premise
WORK ENVIRONMENT 1, 3, 4
  • It is a desk job
  • Need not handle a team
  • Local travelling is not a part of this job role
  • Part-time work and contractual jobs are not available

Working hours

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 1
  • Preferably, B.E/B.Tech (Automobile/Mechanical Engineering)
  • Certified training for Product Design Engineer (programme aligned to ASC/Q8102 released by Automotive Skills Development Council)
KEY COMPETENCIES 1
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of machine and mechanics
  • Knowledge of the different principles of functionality, ergonomics, etc.
  • Knowledge of the different materials/chemical processes used in product design
  • Understanding of the latest technology and regulation in the auto industry
  • Knowledge of basic arithmetic and calculation methods for tolerance limits
  • Ability to use measuring instruments and various designing tools
  • Ability to interpret sketches and engineering drawings and visualize the final product

  • Training in FMEA (Failure Mode Effect Analysis)
  • Training in latest trends in the automotive industry
