JOB DESCRIPTION 1

The tasks a Dialysis Technician is expected to perform include:

  • Operating dialysis machines
  • Performing dialysis on patients
  • Cleaning and sterilization of the dialysis machines
  • Giving patients the required  medical, technical, social, emotional support
  • Providing vital information of patients’ conditions to nurses, doctors and other medical staff
WORK ENVIRONMENT 
  • It is not a desk job

  • Need not handle a team
  • Travelling maybe a part of the job
Working hours
  • Companies usually work for 5/6 days a week and 8/9 hours everyday. This may vary from clinic to clinic

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 1
  • Minimum – 12th standard in Science
  • Certified training for Dialysis Technician (programme aligned to HSS/Q 2701 released by Healthcare Sector Skill Council)

  • Knowledge about the significance of the medical reports describing the patients’ condition
  • Well versed with the values of the vital parameters under which dialysis can be safely performed
  • Knowledge of the sources of information that can be accessed to maintain an awareness of research and development in one's area of work
  • Proficiency in the method of measuring vital parameters accurately
  • Knowledge on the importance of reporting and minimizing risk
