The tasks an Emergency Medical Technician – Basic is expected to perform include:

  • Providing emergency medical support and care to individuals who are critically ill or injured
  • Transporting patients to a medical facility within stipulated time limits

  • Familiarity with relevant medical equipment used in different types of emergencies
  • Proficiency in basic medical terms and principles to evaluate the patient’s condition
  • Ability to deal with different types of hazardous materials like nuclear, radioactive, biological, chemical and explosive substances
DESIRABLE COMPETENCIES 1
  • Preferably relevant professional qualifications
  • Good fitness as per the guideline for Defence Man & Woman
