JOB DESCRIPTION 1

The tasks a Cutter (Footwear) is expected to perform include:

  • Laying out leather or non-leather material

  • Marking and cutting the material using cutting dies

  • Positioning of leather/non-leather material

  • Ensuring quantity and quality of cut pieces

WORK ENVIRONMENT 2
  • It is a bench work job
  • Need not handle a team 
  • Travelling is not part of the job 
  • Part-time work and contractual jobs are available 
  • Work from home option is not available

 

Working hours

  • Working is 9/10 hours every day for 5/6 days a week

  • Shift system maybe available

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 1
  • Minimum – 5th standard
  • Certified training for Cutter (Footwear) (programme aligned to LSS/Q3201 released by Leather Sector Skill Council)

 

KEY COMPETENCIES 1
  • Proficient in equipment operating procedures
  • Knowledge of footwear industry
  • Proficient in methods of cutting like die cutting
  • Skilled in clicking to ensure maximum usage and minimum wastage
  • Familiar with implications of using defective tools and machines on the materials
  • Knowledge of footwear products and styles of footwear like boots, sandals, slippers, etc.
  • Ability to follow manufacturer’s instructions

Knowledge of material optimization techniques and basic operations on various clicking machines
