The tasks a Lasting Operator is expected to perform include:

  • Operating various machines used in lasting process

  • Performing lasting, seat lasting and roughing

WORK ENVIRONMENT 2

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 1
  • Minimum – Class V
  • Certified training for Lasting Operator (programme aligned to LSS/N3801 released by Leather Sector Skill Council)
 

 

KEY COMPETENCIES 1

  • Proficient in the procedure of operating machines

  • Well-versed with the lasting process

  • Knowledge of the ways by which material can be prevented from becoming contaminated

  • Proficient with lasts and shapes of shoes

  • Knowledge of adhesive and application of adhesive
