JOB DESCRIPTION 1

The tasks a Cashier is expected to perform include:

  • Accepting payments from the customers against their purchases
  • Generating and issuing receipts of the purchases
  • Counting the items and calculating the total price
  • Packing and handing over the purchases to the customers
  • Maintaining cash registers
  • Maintaining record of total cash in the register at the beginning and end of each shift
  • Issuing refunds, credits or exchange due to the customers
  • Providing information regarding various policies, procedures, schemes and reward programmes to the customers
  • Answering customer queries regarding a product
  • Tallying the total sales made with total cash received regularly
  • Depositing received cash to the bank
