JOB DESCRIPTION ¹

The tasks a Tower Technician is expected to perform include:

Maintaining a site live 24×7
Maintaining and repairing level-1 faults/issues at telecom tower site
Reporting preventive and corrective maintenance faults to the supervisor in time

WORK ENVIRONMENT

It is not a desk job
Work from home option is not available
Part-time work and contractual jobs maybe available
Travelling is a part of the job
May need to handle a team of Technicians and Helpers

Working hours

Working hours are 10 to12 hours everyday for 5 to 6 days a week. This may vary from company to company

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING ¹

Minimum – Preferably 10+2 and/or ITI Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical
Certified training for Tower Technician (programme aligned to TEL/Q4100 released by Telecom Sector Skill Council)

KEY COMPETENCIES ¹

Knowledge of basic use of mechanical equipment
Well-versed with the general aspect of electrical wiring
Knowledge of basic layout of tower site
Proficient in calculating energy cost and site up-time
Well-versed with the safety requirements at the tower site
Knowledge troubleshooting Alternating Current (AC), Switch Mode Power Supply (SMPS), battery bank, etc.
Well-versed with the basic aspects of distribution panel
