JOB DESCRIPTION 1
The tasks an Industrial Engineer is expected to perform include:
  • Planning and overseeing utilization of production facilities
  • Studying and planning equipment layout and work flow-charts for all operations
  • Undertaking accident prevention measures to maintain efficient and safe utilization of plant facilities
  • Supervising work study and training programmes to promote efficient manpower utilization
  • Supervising application, inspection and maintenance of instruments in operation
  • Developing and ensuring quality control, cost control, inventory control and production record systems

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT 2

  • It is not a desk job

  • Need not handle a team

  • Local travelling is not a part of this job role

  • Part-time work and contractual jobs are not available

  • Work from home option is not available

Working hours

  • Companies usually work for 5/6 days a week and 8/9 hours everyday. This may vary from company to company

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 5

Minimum – Engineering degree in relevant field

KEY COMPETENCIES 6
  • Knowledge of production schedules, engineering specifications, orders, etc.
  • Skilled in drafting and designing layout of equipment, materials and workspace
  • Knowledge of sequence of operations to fabricate products
  • Efficient in developing manufacturing methods, labour utilization standards and cost analysis systems
  • Proficient in formulating sampling procedures and designs
  • Skilled in developing forms and instructions for recording and evaluation of work procedures
  • Knowledge of the latest developments in industrial engineering
