JOB DESCRIPTION 1
The tasks a Mechanical Engineer, General is expected to perform include:
  • Planning, designing and supervising installation of machines and equipment
  • Ensuring operation, production and maintenance of machines and equipment
  • Preparing drawings with specifications for the machinery
  • Studying performance of existing machinery
  • Suggesting improvements in existing machineries, to obtain optimum efficiency
  • Supervising the technical side of production
  • Inspecting work in workshop, at different stages of production to ensure correct standards
  • Directing repairs and maintenance of tools and equipment
  • Determining efficient and economic ways of production through various studies
  • Ensuring implementation of safety measures, factory laws and statutory provisions
  • Examining indents and checking outgoing and incoming stores

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT 1
  • It is not a desk job
  • The candidate will supervise a team of Manufacturing Workers
  • Local travelling is not a part of this job role
  • Part-time work and contractual jobs are not available
  • Work from home option is not available
Working hours

  • Companies usually work for 5/6 days a week and 8/9 hours everyday. This may vary from company to company

  • Shift system maybe available in some companies

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 4

Minimum – Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering

KEY COMPETENCIES 5
  • Proficient in software’s such as Hevacomp, Carrier HAP, etc.
  • Knowledge of GD&T, stack-up analysis and DFx methodologies
  • Knowledge of developing 3D CAD models and 2D fabrication drawings
  • Proficient in mechanical engineering fundamentals
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance
  • Knowledge of physical principles and laws
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, etc.
