JOB DESCRIPTION ¹

The tasks a Printing Technologist is expected to perform include:

Conducting new research to develop better and economical printing processes
Evolving the processes of letter press printing, off-set printing (lithography), gravure printing (reserve of letter printing) and screen printing to serve different printing purposes or specific ones
Utilizing electronic and magnetic devices in printing processes
Developing rapid and accurate methods of composing matter
Supervising printing processes in printing press

WORK ENVIRONMENT ^{1, 2}

May need to handle a team
Local travelling is not a part of this job role

Working hours

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING ³

Preferably, diploma in printing technology or Bachelor’s in printing technology

KEY COMPETENCIES ¹

Knowledge of composing, electrotyping, stereo typing, photo composition, photo engraving and oil-type composition
Familiar with using different links, papers and machines
Proficient in the use of existing and new technologies in printing
Skilled in troubleshooting machines
Knowledge of research methods

DESIRABLE COMPETENCIES ¹

Good communication skills
Result-oriented
