JOB DESCRIPTION 1

The tasks a Printing Technologist is expected to perform include:

  • Conducting new research to develop better and economical printing processes
  • Evolving the processes of letter press printing, off-set printing (lithography), gravure printing (reserve of letter printing) and screen printing to serve different printing purposes or specific ones
  • Utilizing electronic and magnetic devices in printing processes
  • Developing rapid and accurate methods of composing matter
  • Supervising printing processes in printing press​​
WORK ENVIRONMENT 1, 2
  • It is not a desk job
  • May need to handle a team
  • Local travelling is not a part of this job role
  • Part-time work and contractual jobs are not available

Working hours

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 3

Preferably, diploma in printing technology or Bachelor’s in printing technology

KEY COMPETENCIES 1
  • Knowledge of composing, electrotyping, stereo typing, photo composition, photo engraving and oil-type composition
  • Familiar with using different links, papers and machines
  • Proficient in the use of existing and new technologies in printing
  • Skilled in troubleshooting machines
  • Knowledge of research methods
