JOB DESCRIPTION ¹

The tasks an Occupational Therapist is expected to perform include:

Providing medical help and/or rehabilitation to individuals suffering from functional disabilities
Helping general treatment and recovery of patients suffering from tuberculosis, rheumatism, industrial accidents, blood pressure, heart trouble, etc.
Engaging the patient as guided by doctor in creative, vocational and manual pursuits such as craft work, gardening, physical exercises, games, music, etc.

WORK ENVIRONMENT ^{1, 2}

It is not a desk job
Need not handle a team
Local travelling is not a part of this job role
Part-time work and contractual jobs are available
Work from home option is not available

Working hours

Individual usually works for 5/6 days a week and 8/9 hours everyday. The organization or institution remains open and functional for 24 hours a day and 7 days a week
Shift system may be available
Overtime may be required
Being self-employed is also an option. In this case, the working hours and days will be flexible

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING ³

Preferably, B.Sc. (Occupational Therapist)

Ability to guide the family of the patients regarding care of the disabled
