JOB DESCRIPTION 1
The tasks a Physiotherapist is expected to perform include:
  • Treating patients suffering from metabolic diseases, body injuries, stiffness, paralysis, neuritis, etc.
  • Treating the patients by massage, exercise and use of heat, light, water, electricity and special therapy machines and techniques
  • Assisting and instructing patients on performance of corrective, reducing and other physical exercises
  • Customizing and designing appropriate therapies catered to patient's level of impairment

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT 1

  • It is not a desk job

  • Need not handle a team

  • Local travelling is not a part of this job role

  • Part-time work and contractual jobs are available

  • Work from home option maybe available

Working hours

  • Hospitals/clinics usually work for 6/7 days a week and 9/10 hours everyday. This may vary from clinic to clinic

  • Shift system maybe available

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 4

Minimum – Bachelor of Physiotherapy

KEY COMPETENCIES 1
  • In-depth knowledge of human anatomy
  • In-depth knowledge of different therapies for different body parts
  • Skilled in working with specialised tools such as hydrotherapy pools, ultrasound, laser machines and electrotherapeutic equipment
  • Proficient in handling equipment and machines used in physiotherapy
  • Knowledge of medical practices
  • Knowledge of up-to-date advances in the diagnosis and treatment of patients
  • Experience of working with patients with complex disabilities
