JOB DESCRIPTION 1
The tasks a Heel Attacher, Hand (Footwear) is expected to perform include:
  • Fixing leather and rubber heels to shoes by driving nails with a hammer 
  • Collecting heels to be attached according to size and shape of shoes
  • Selecting well pointed nails of required size
  • Setting shoes on iron last with sole upward
  • Placing heel on shoe and adjusting the position
  • Driving nails with hammer through heel and heel-seat to clinch them to insole
  • Checking frequently while nailing and ensuring proper nailing and adjustment of heel to insole
  • Trimming off edges of heels with knife to give desired shape

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

  • It is a desk job but one needs to be on their toes

  • Need not handle a team

  • Local travelling is not a part of this job role

  • Part-time work and contractual jobs are available

  • Work from home option is not available

Working hours

  • Factories usually work for 6 days a week for 8 hours everyday. This may vary from factory to factory

  • Shift system maybe available

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 3

  • Knowledge of different types of materials which is used for this particular operation
