JOB DESCRIPTION 1
The tasks a Hide and Skin Setter, Machine is expected to perform include:
  • Operating the machine fitted with a blunt knife to set grains on hide or skin and to smoothen leather
  • Spreading leather stretched over the machine table
  • Starting machine and observing the blunt edged knife fitted in the machine
  • Rubbing surface of hide or skin with pressure to set grains and remove wrinkles
  • Changing positions of leather to set the entire surface of leather and to make it smooth
  • Oiling and cleaning machines regularly

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

  • It needs one to be on their toes

  • Need not handle a team

  • Local travelling is not a part of this job role

  • Part-time work and contractual jobs are available

  • Work from home option is not available

Working hours

  • Factories usually work for 6 days a week for 8 hours everyday. This may vary from factory to factory

  • Shift system is available

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 3

Minimum – 5th pass
