JOB DESCRIPTION 1
The tasks a Leather Cutter, Machine is expected to perform include:
  • Cutting leather by machine used for making harness and saddles
  • Fitting appropriate guide in machine
  • Inserting leather under knives to cut components to desired shape
  • Checking sample piece for accuracy and continues production
  • Sharpening and changing the knife when required

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

  • It needs one to be on their toes

  • Need not handle a team

  • Local travelling is not a part of this job role

  • Part-time work and contractual jobs are available

  • Work from home option is not available

Working hours

  • Factories usually work for 6 days a week for 8 hours everyday. This may vary from factory to factory

  • Shift system is available

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 3

  • Proficient in identifying the type of leather, its thickness, defects, etc.
  • Knowledge of the common defects of leather
  • Proficient in handling all tools and techniques
  • Knowledge of different types of materials used for this particular operation
  • Well-versed with leather measurement system
