JOB DESCRIPTION 1

The tasks a Microwave Engineer Telecommunication is expected to perform include:

  • Designing, installing, maintaining and operating special telecommunication equipment
  • Working on microwaves such as radar, navigational aids, etc. to maintain communication between specified points
  • Preparing layout and supervising installation of microwave project taking into account site, accessibility, availability of power, etc.
  • Checking functional operations of equipment and putting it into action to establish communication between specified points
  • Keeping regular watch and recording all readings registered by instruments
  • Detecting any faults, ascertaining reasons of break downs, and setting them right either by adjusting or by getting defective components replaced
  • Supervising regular maintenance of equipment according to schedule, including maintenance of wave guides, distribution lines, aerials etc.
  • Keeping units in working order, and ensuring proper reception and transmission of messages
  • Undertaking research in problems connected with tele - communication engineering and carrying out administrative duties
WORK ENVIRONMENT 2
  • It is not a desk job and requires field work
  • The role does not involve team handling
  • Travelling is required on the job
  • Part-time work and contractual jobs are not available
  • Work from home option is not available
Working hours
  • Work is for 5 days a week and minimum 8/9 hours every day

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 6

Minimum – Diploma/B.Sc/BE/B-Tech/ME/M-Tech/M.Sc – Electrical/Electronic or Communication

KEY COMPETENCIES 
  • Working knowledge of telecommunication equipment and microwaves
  • Understanding of layout and installation of microwave project
  • Expertise in checking functional operations of equipment and putting it into action
  • Basic knowledge of recording all readings registered by instruments
  • Knowledge of faults, reasons of break downs, etc. and the corrective action required
  • Knowledge of maintenance of equipment, wave guides, distribution lines, aerials, etc.
  • Knowledge of undertaking research in problems connected with tele - communication engineering
