JOB DESCRIPTION 1

The tasks a Book Maker is expected to perform include:

  • Managing establishments to receive and pay off bets placed by horse racing patrons
  • Preparing and issuing lists of approximate handicap odds on each horse prior to race
  • Determining risks on each horse to refuse additional bets beyond maximum limits of liability
  • Recording bets placed over counter or by telephone
  • Issuing betting receipts
  • Keeping account of cash transactions
  • Paying taxes on earnings
WORK ENVIRONMENT 2
  • It is not a desk job
  • Needs not handle a team
  • Local travelling is not a part of this job role
  • Part-time work and contractual jobs are available in some cities
  • Work from home option is not available
Working hours
  • Organizations usually works for 5/6 days a week and 8/9 hours everyday. This may vary from organization to organization
