JOB DESCRIPTION 1

The tasks a Booking Clerk, Transport is expected to perform include:

  • Issuing tickets to passengers at booking offices of railways, airlines, navigation and motor transport companies, etc.
  • Maintaining book record relating to sale of tickets
  • Ascertaining the passenger destination, number of tickets and class of accommodation for which ticket is required
  • Collecting fares from passengers, locating tickets from panel board, dates tickets and issuing them to passengers
  • Maintaining account of tickets sold and amount realized
  • Handing over daily cash collections to Cashier
  • Indenting for printed tickets
  • Issuing platform tickets, meal tickets and retiring room tickets
  • Providing cash receipts
