JOB DESCRIPTION 1

The tasks a Kitchen Porter is expected to perform include:

  • Carrying meat, vegetable, water, etc. for kitchen in hotels
  • Cleaning crockery, cutlery, dishes, plates, cooking utensils
  • Lighting and maintaining fire
  • Washing, cutting and peeling vegetables
WORK ENVIRONMENT 2, 1
  • It is not a desk job
  • Need not handle a team
  • Local travelling is not part of this job role
  • Part-time work and contractual jobs are available
  • Work from home option is not available
Working hours
  • Individual usually works for 5/6 days a week and 10/12 hours everyday. The organization or institution remains open and functional for 24 hours a day and 7 days a week
  • Shift system may be available
  • Overtime may be required
  • Being self-employed is also an option. In this case, the working hours and days will be flexible

  • Well-versed with lighting and maintaining fire for cooking
  • Proficient in cutting and cleaning vegetables
