JOB DESCRIPTION 1

The tasks a Pantry man is expected to perform include:

  • Preparing snacks and beverages in large hotels, clubs or similar establishments
  • Maintaining account of sales
  • Preparing and mixing various ingredients to be used in salads, fruit cocktails, beverages and sandwiches
  • Serving preparations to Waiters
  • Maintaining pantry in clean and orderly condition
WORK ENVIRONMENT 2, 1
  • It is not a desk job
  • Need not handle a team
  • Local travelling is not a part of this job role
  • Part-time work and contractual jobs are available
  • Work from home option is not available
Working hours
  • Individual usually works for 5/6 days a week and 10/12 hours everyday. The organization or institution remains open and functional for 24 hours a day and 7 days a week
  • Shift system may be available
  • Overtime may be required
  • Being self-employed is also an option. In this case, the working hours and days will be flexible

  • Ability to operate certain electrical kitchen equipment in a safe and sanitary way
  • Well-versed to follow restaurant’s specification sheets on portion control
  • Knowledge about operating kitchen utensils and/or equipment used for weighing, measuring, mixing, washing, peeling, cutting, grinding, stirring, straining, slicing, assembling and kneading of food products
  • Understand simple mathematical calculations in order to follow recipes
