JOB DESCRIPTION 1

The tasks a Reservation Clerk, Transport is expected to perform include:

  • Reserving berths, cabins, seats in trains, boats, ships, motor vehicles or planes by charging prescribed fees
  • Attending to enquiries of passengers in person, by post or on phone for reservation
  • Informing customers about the latest status regarding availability or non-availability of seats and berths
  • Collecting fares and reservation charges from passengers and issues tickets and reservation slips
  • Making reservation entries in register
  • Remitting cash collected during day to superiors or cashier general

  • It is a desk job
  • Need not handle a team
  • Local travelling is not a part of this job role
  • Part-time work and contractual jobs may be available

Working hours
