JOB DESCRIPTION ¹

The tasks a Driller, Hand is expected to perform include:

Making shot holes of required depth in coal, metallic and non-metallic rock-faces using crowbar, drill rods and hammer

Examining marks on rock face for drilling

Setting crowbar against marking and getting it struck with heavy hammer by a co-worker

Cleaning shot hole for charging with explosive

WORK ENVIRONMENT

It is a field job

Need not handle a team

Local travelling is not a part of this job

Part-time work and contractual jobs are available in some cities

Work from home option is not available

Working hours

Mining companies usually work for 6 days a week and 8/10 hours everyday. This may vary from company to company

Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the process of drilling

Ability to fasten the specified drill bit in chuck of drill

Proficient in using instruments like drill, hammer, etc.

Well-versed with the drilling process

Ability to drill shot hole using drilling machine

Ability to drill hole singlehandedly using hand hammer and crowbar
