JOB DESCRIPTION 1

The tasks a Traffic Inspector, Tram is expected to perform include:

  • Supervising the work of Tram Conductors and Tram Car Drivers to ensure timely operation of trams
  • Checking the Conductor's memo through field inspection to ensure timely running of the tram
  • Tallying the tickets sold with the recorded entry and tickets held by passengers travelling in trams in order to check and avoid overpayment of fares or over travelling by passengers
  • Reporting complaints of poor service to higher authorities for action
  • Visiting the sites of accidents or breakdowns and arranging to clear the line to restore normal traffic
  • Administering first aid to injured passengers
  • Observing the performance of Conductors and reporting any irregularities to the higher authority
  • Maintaining the statistics of passengers travelling in tram cars
  • Suggesting improvements to the schedule to divisional authorities

  • It needs one to be on their toes
  • May need to handle a team of Tram Conductors and Tram Car Drivers
  • Local travelling may be a part of this job role
  • Part-time work and contractual jobs may not be available
  • Work from home option is not available
Working hours
  • Working hours are 8 hours everyday for 6 days a week

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 11

Minimum - University degree or its equivalent

  • Proficient in reporting complaints of poor service to higher authorities for action
