JOB DESCRIPTION 1

The tasks a Physicist, General is expected to perform include:

  • Conducting theoretical and experimental studies
  • Conducting research in different branches of physics
  • Formulating theories of physical phenomena to solve industrial and technical problems
  • Studying theory and experimenting with physical properties of solids, liquids and gases
  • Performing experiments on laws of motion, electricity, centre of gravity, liquid pressure, etc.
  • Identifying and measuring all the elements of matter and energy and their interaction with each other
  • Undertaking study of applied physics for understanding and analysing data
  • Specialising in one or more branches of physics such as mechanics, heat, light, sound, electronics, aero and hydrodynamics
  • Using X-Rays in testing materials

  • It is not a desk job
  • May need to handle a team
  • Local travelling is not a part of this job role
  • Part-time work and contractual jobs may be available

Working hours

Preferably, B.Sc. in physics

  • Proficient in supervising research work
  • Proficient in writing reports and scientific papers
  • Proficient in keeping up to date with new developments
  • Skilled in presenting work to peers and other researchers
  • Knowledge of all the basic principles of physics
  • In-depth knowledge of concepts like gravitation, structure and properties of matter, heat, light, sound, electricity, magnetism, electronics, atomic and nuclear physics, biophysics, astrophysics and geophysics
  • Basic knowledge of Solar System and astrophysics, biological and geophysical phenomena, etc.
