JOB DESCRIPTION 1

The tasks a Middle School Teacher is expected to perform include:

  • Teaching one or more subjects to students of middle school in regional language or English
  • Teaching the students of various standards
  • Allotting and correcting homework
  • Conducting tests and examinations
  • Ascertaining a child’s eligibility for promotion to higher standards
  • Maintaining the school registers and records
  • Collecting fees when given the responsibility
  • Conducting sports and extra-curricular activities 
  • Supervising library, canteen, dramatics, etc.
  • Teaching according to the basic educational systems
WORK ENVIRONMENT 1, 2
  • It is not a desk job
  • Need not handle a team
  • Local travelling is not a part of this job role
  • Part-time work and contractual jobs may be available
  • Work from home option is not available
Working hours
  • Schools usually work for 5/6 days a week and 7/8 hours everyday. This may vary from school to school 
  • Shift system may be available
  • Overtime may be required
  • Being self-employed is also an option. In this case, the working hours and days will be flexible
