JOB DESCRIPTION ¹

The tasks a Genealogist is expected to perform include:

Conducting research into the genealogical background of individual or families in order to establish descent from specific ancestor
Discovering and identifying the forebears of individual or family
Consulting different genealogical tables, publications and documents
Making use of records from church and court to establish evidence of births, baptisms, marriages, deaths and legacies
Tracing the lines of descent or succession
Constructing the chart showing lines of descent and family relationships
Preparing the history of family in narrative form
Writing brief sketches emphasizing points of interest in family background

WORK ENVIRONMENT ^{1, 2}

It is not a desk job
Need not handle a team
Local travelling is a part of this job role
