JOB DESCRIPTION 1

​The tasks a Methods, Time and Motion Study Technician is expected to perform include:

  • Studying and recording time, motion methods and speed involved in performance of maintenance, production, clerical and other worker operations to establish standard production rate and to improve efficiency
  • Preparing charts, graphs and diagrams to illustrate work flow routing, floor lay outs, material handling and machine utilization
  • Observing workers operating equipment or performing task to determine time involved and fatigue rate using stopwatch, electrical recorder and similar instruments
  • Recommending revision of methods of operation or material handling, alterations in equipment layout or other changes to increase production or improve standards
  • Aiding in planning work assignments in accordance with worker performance, machine capacity, production schedules and anticipated delays

  • It is mostly a desk job
  • Need not handle a team
  • Local travelling is not a part of this job role
  • Part-time work and contractual jobs may be available

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 3

Preferably, diploma/B.Tech./B.E. in civil engineering

  • Skilled in presenting the analysis in various forms such as charts, graphs and diagrams
