JOB DESCRIPTION 1

The tasks a Check Pilot is expected to perform include:

  • Accompanying aeroplane Captains on periodic flights to observe their ability and to evaluate their proficiency
  • Observing Pilots’ proficiency in manoeuvring aircrafts and taking notes of compliance and infringements of company or aviation regulations
  • Checking navigational and meteorological facilities available en-route
  • Compiling reports on finding for management remedial action
  • Flying aircraft during an​ emergency

Working hours

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 3

  • Knowledge of government regulation affecting flight operations
  • Proficient in preparation of flight crew schedules and assignment of personnel
  • Knowledge of various types of aircraft
  • Proficient in providing advisory capacity during contract negotiations with pilot union
  • Knowledge of emergency procedures and use of survival equipment
  • Well-versed with subjects such as air regulations, aviation meteorology, air navigation and air technical
  • Knowledge of drawing up new air-routes and conducting aerial surveys
