JOB DESCRIPTION ¹

The tasks a Check Pilot is expected to perform include:

Accompanying aeroplane Captains on periodic flights to observe their ability and to evaluate their proficiency
Observing Pilots’ proficiency in manoeuvring aircrafts and taking notes of compliance and infringements of company or aviation regulations
Checking navigational and meteorological facilities available en-route
Compiling reports on finding for management remedial action
Flying aircraft during an emergency

Travelling is a part of this job role
Part-time work and contractual jobs may be available

Working hours

Individual usually works for 5/6 days a week and 8/9 hours everyday. The organization or institution remains open and functional for 24 hours a day and 7 days a week

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING ³

Preferably, graduate degree

KEY COMPETENCIES ¹

Well-versed with technical manuals of aeroplane and equipment manufacturers
Knowledge of government regulation affecting flight operations
Proficient in preparation of flight crew schedules and assignment of personnel
Knowledge of various types of aircraft
Proficient in providing advisory capacity during contract negotiations with pilot union
Knowledge of emergency procedures and use of survival equipment
Well-versed with subjects such as air regulations, aviation meteorology, air navigation and air technical
Knowledge of drawing up new air-routes and conducting aerial surveys

DESIRABLE COMPETENCIES ¹

Ability to make quick decisions
Ability to work in a team
