JOB DESCRIPTION 1

The tasks a Briefing Assistant is expected to perform include:

  • Performing clerical duties incidental to operation of aircraft through airport
  • Making out clearance papers to authorize cross country flights
  • Submitting clearance papers to authority for approval
  • Printing weather information on clearance and weather report forms using duplicating machine 
  • Preparing despatch papers including items such as time of departure and arrival, names of crew members, cargo weight, etc. 
  • Posting progress of flights using chalk and black board or special indicator board
  • Keeping permanent flight records
  • Preparing messages to be sent by radio and teletype to other fields concerning flights
  • Arranging for crew member substitutes
WORK ENVIRONMENT 2
  • It is a desk job 
  • Need not handle a team
  • Local travelling is not a part of this job
  • Part-time work and contractual jobs maybe available in some cities
  • Work from home option is not available
Working hours
  • Working hours are 10/12 hours everyday for 5/6 days a week. This may vary from airport to airport
  • Shift system is available

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 3

Minimum – Graduate

KEY COMPETENCIES 1
  • Knowledge of making out clearance papers 
  • Proficient in preparing despatch papers including items such as time of departure and arrival, names of crew members, cargo weigh, etc.
  • Knowledge of operating electronic equipment such as printer
  • Proficient in keeping flight record
  • Well-versed with MS Office
  • Proficient in preparing messages to be sent by radio and teletype to other fields concerning flights
  • Proficient in arranging for crew member substitutes
