JOB DESCRIPTION 1
The tasks a Head Train Recorder is expected to perform include:
  • Supervising the work of Train Clerks engaged in recording the movement of incoming and outgoing passenger coaches, empty or loaded goods wagons and stationary stock in the yard
  • Ensuring that the Train Clerk attends to the incoming or outgoing trains
  • Recording the time of arrival of trains, departure of trains and the numbers of coaches to the Section Controller

  • It needs one to be on their toes
  • May need to handle a team of Train Clerks
  • Local travelling is not a part of this job role
  • Part-time work and contractual jobs are available in some cities
  • Work from home option is not available
Working hours
  • Working hours are 8 hours everyday for 6 days a week

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 6

Minimum - Matriculation or its equivalent with not less than 50% marks in the aggregate

KEY COMPETENCIES 1
  • Proficient in checking each loaded waggon to ensure that it is properly levelled and riveted
  • Adept at checking the movement of the rolling stock to find out detention and its cause thereof
  • Well-versed in suggesting remedial measures for quick movement of the waggons
