JOB DESCRIPTION 

The tasks a Conductor Tram is expected to perform include:

  • Collecting fares and issuing tickets
  • Ensuring that the tram car is running on the scheduled routes
  • Signalling the tram car driver to start or stop the tram, as necessary
  • Receiving the instructions from the time keeper at the depot
  • Collecting the bill and tickets from the cashier
  • Displaying the destination board in the car
  • Co-operating with the tram driver to maintain the time schedule
  • Checking the interior of the tram car, seats, electric lights, fans, first aid box etc.
  • Ensuring cleanliness inside the car
  • Regulating the boarding of the passengers and ensuring that the tram is not overloaded
  • Ensuring that the tram is making stops at all the scheduled stoppages
  • Assisting the passengers and maintaining order in the tram car
  • Rendering first aid to the passengers, in case of an accident
  • Checking the car after each trip and depositing the left articles, if any, with the Depot Starter
  • Verifying the entries made by the Starter on the ticket memo and mileage card at the end of each trip
WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Working hours are 8 hours everyday for 6 days a week
