JOB DESCRIPTION 1
The tasks anAbrasive-Wheel Moulderis expected to perform include:
  •  Using hydraulic press to mould synthetic abrasive discs, hones and grinding wheels
  •  Selecting mouldparts according to size and thickness of wheeldesired
  •  Assembling parts to form mould
  •  Scraping out specified amounts of abrasivecompound and adhesive
  •  Pouring compound intomould on rotating turntable
  •  Inserting bushingsand hub nuts in centre of mould to form wheel
  •  Placing top plate on mould
  •  Positioning mould inpress
  •  Turning valves and levers to close press
  •  Starting pressing cycle
  •  Removing pressedwheels from mould 
  •  Placing pressed wheels on plates fordrying in kilns
WORK ENVIRONMENT 2
  •  It requires one to be on theirtoes
  •  Need not handle a team
  •  Local travelling is a part of this job role
  •  Part-time work and contractual jobs are available in some cities
  •  Work from home option is not available
Working hours
  •  Factories usually work for 6 days a week and 8/10 hours every day. This may vary from factory to factory
  •  Shift system maybe available

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 3

Minimum-5th pass

KEY COMPETENCIES 
  •  Knowledge of operations of a moulding/core making process
  •  Proficient in layering mould sections
  •  Well-versed withproducing mould by core assembly
  •  Ability to product plaster mould from which pottery is cast
  •  Knowledge of claymodelling
  •  Knowledge of how tostamp or mark code numbers on pressed wheels
  •  Knowledge of mixing grit, resin and clay to form abrasive compound, using mixing machine
