JOB DESCRIPTION ¹

The tasks a Skin Diver is expected to perform include:

Diving into sea for underwater examination of keel of ship, propellers, pipes, etc. for suspected breakage and leakage, and reporting defects
Receiving order from supervisors and going to spot where diving is required
Ascertaining depth of water by putting sounding lines
Judging whether skin diving is feasible
Diving into water by holding on rope attached with heavy weight (sinker) and being lowered to the bottom
Reporting defects to supervisors
Rectifying minor defects
Removing obstructions while underwater

It requires physical activity
Need not handle a team
Travelling is a part of this job role
Part-time work and contractual jobs are available in some cities
