The tasks a Casting Machine Operator (Non-Ferrous Metal) is expected to perform include:
• Setting up and operating continuous casting machine to produce tubes and rods
• Threading the graphite die into bottom of crucible, which holds molten metal during casting process
• Placing the water jacket around die and connecting water lines
• Inserting a metal bar (starting tip) through die into crucible where it provides weld with molten metal
• Inserting a metal extension rod through driving roller and threading it to starting tip
• Regulating the speed of rollers to draw extension rods, starting tip and molten metal through die in continuous casting process
