JOB DESCRIPTION 1

 

The tasks a Crabbing Machineman (Woollen Textile) is expected to perform include:
Tending crabbing machine for setting weave and giving stability to woollen cloth
Setting cloth roll at feed end of the machine
Passing end of cloth length through guides and roller of the machine and fixing it with collecting cylinder for processing in hot water tank
Winding the cloth to roll
Filling tank with water and opening steam valve to boil it
Setting pressure of rollers and starting machine to rotate cloth through water and rollers
Observing pressure gauges periodically and maintaining required pressure and temperature of water
Draining off hot water and letting cold water to cool processed cloth
Collecting processed cloth for subsequent operations
Cleaning and oiling the machine

Need not handle a team
Local travelling is not a part of this job role

Working hours

 

Companies usually work for 6/7 days a week and 9/10 hours everyday. This may vary from company to company

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING 4

Minimum – Any Graduate

Ability to clean and oil the machine periodically
Skilled in controlling the temperature of the solution
Knowledge of pressure and temperature gauges
Skilled in operating crabbing machine
